Job purpose:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated BESS Specialist to join our Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team for a utility-scale Solar PV Plant integrated with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The successful candidate will be responsible for the monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of the BESS to ensure reliable plant operations and compliance with safety and grid standards

Minimum requirements:

English.

Knowledge & Experience:

• Electrical Engineer with mechanical skills
  Knowledges in PV domain will be appreciated.

Personal/Work Skills/Education:

• Degree or master’s degree in electrical / power engineering
• 5+ years of experience in the electrical power systems industry
• Fluent English spoken and written, additional languages is a plus.
• Strong interest in renewable energy

• Key Responsibilities

• System Monitoring & Analysis
  • Monitor BESS operation using SCADA and OEM platforms.
  • Analyze system performance and diagnose anomalies, degradation, or underperformance.
  • Maintain accurate records of performance data, alarms, and incidents.
• Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance as per manufacturer recommendations and O&M procedures.
  • Identify and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control issues within the BESS and interface systems.
  • Coordinate and execute corrective maintenance activities, including replacement of modules, inverters, sensors, and control components.
• Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
  • Ensure strict adherence to site safety procedures and risk assessments.
  • Support implementation of HSE best practices and compliance with local regulations.
  • Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and other safety protocols during intervention.
• Interface & Reporting
  • Serve as a technical liaison with BESS OEMs and vendors for support, warranty, and upgrades.
  • Generate and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on BESS performance, maintenance activities, and incidents.
  • Support grid compliance reporting and testing as required.
• Operational Support
  • Assist in the start-up, commissioning, and testing of new BESS equipment or software updates.
  • Participate in emergency response efforts and operational contingency planning.
• Collaborate with the solar PV team to ensure coordinated system operation and energy dispatch.
